Court Ordered Community Service
The Washtenaw County American Red Cross offers volunteer opportunities for those looking to complete court-ordered community service.
Volunteers are needed to staff the blood drives that are held all around Washtenaw County. Most blood drives are held on weekdays during general business hours. Volunteers do not handle any blood or blood products.
Blood Drives are scheduled a few weeks in advance, and volunteers must first schedule a training session. For more details, please call the chapter at 734-971-5300 and follow the prompts in the voice menu, or email the Blood Services Coordinator, Mark Huizenga (mark.huizenga@redcross.org)
Note: The American Red Cross does not accept volunteers with felonies, assault related crimes or weapons charges, and reserves the right to terminate or deny volunteers for any reason.
Your situation will be held confidential and only members of the Volunteer Resources Department will be aware of your volunteer status. With this respect we are extending you, we also require you give our agency the same respect in return.
This means….
You will take your volunteering seriously.
You will treat your volunteer experience as you would a job.
You will commit to the hours you schedule.
You will act professionally and put forth the best customer service possible.
When you are volunteering with the American Red Cross you are representing the American Red Cross. Everything you do and say is associated with our agency, so we entrust you will always put your best foot forward when volunteering with us.
